It brings together hospitals, authorities and societies to develop clinical audit guidelines and methodology, leading to improved healthcare and patient care across the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CLAUD-IT project is set to elevate patient care across Europe by supporting EU Member States in implementation of clinical audit, with a focus on radiology and nuclear medicine. CLAUD-IT connects hospitals, authorities, and societies in 9 EU Member States to develop clinical audit guidelines, methodology, and supporting documents. This initiative will train over 250 professionals, empowering them to lead audits and improve healthcare quality and safety across EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CLAUD-IT project supports EU Member States in implementing clinical audits in radiology and nuclear medicine to improve the quality and safety of healthcare. It will pilot clinical audits in 9 EU Member States, starting with 11 hospitals and then expanding to a further 3-6 institutions in each participating country. The project, supported by the European Society of Radiology and the European Association of Nuclear Medicine, will use a phased approach and will train over 250 professionals through a train-the-trainer model to ensure further implementation of clinical audit in Europe. CLAUD-IT will also develop nuclear medicine guidelines and expand existing radiology guidelines based on the European Society of Radiology&#8217;s ESPERANTO for Radiology. All materials will be made available through an online repository, providing an open access one-stop-shop for clinical audit resources in radiology and nuclear medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assess the current state of the art in all 9 participating Member States to identify new developments since the completion of the QuADRANT project as well as existing infrastructures and stakeholders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare practical, concise and evidence-based audit material and related training material for radiology and nuclear medicine and to make these available in a central repository in order to provide a \u201cone-stop-shop\u201d for stakeholders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold practical stakeholder training to conduct clinical audits under external guidance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Raise awareness for the importance of clinical audit by communicating its mandatory character as laid down in the BSSD and explaining the great impact it can have on daily professional practice as well as its contribution to higher quality care and patient safety. Alfredo Cesario<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"658\" height=\"657\" src=\"https:\/\/www.policlinicogemelli.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DT4H-DEF.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54048\" style=\"width:137px;height:136px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>VISION:<\/strong> Cardiovascular disease is the main cause of mortality worldwide, representing about a third of annual deaths, and patients\u2019 medical care produces a large amount of data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DataTools4Heart will design methods to reuse such data to facilitate research and improve the conditions of cardiovascular patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DataTools4Heart toolbox will be designed, tested, and implemented in several countries while ensuring the compliance of all legal (e.g., privacy) constraints in the cardiology domain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MISSION:<\/strong> DataTools4Heart aims to improve the lifestyle of patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases by developing a comprehensive, federated, privacy-preserving toolbox for data reuse in cardiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tools include a platform that will securely access data from different hospitals and transform them into their digital counterparts (synthetic data) to be used by researchers and clinicians across the world. The access into large-scale multi-source cardiology data will be facilitated by the creation of virtual assistants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FOCUS:<\/strong> Through the capacity of all its participants and the consortium, DataTools4Heart will focus on unlocking currently inaccessible cardiovascular health data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DataTools4Heart operates in response to the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) call for a major shift towards integrative data-driven approaches to develop personalised cardiovascular medicine. Multi-site federated health data use will be allowed, thanks to the contributions from clinical centres from seven EEA countries, namely Spain, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Italy, Sweden, Romania, and Czech Republic. They will constitute a representative sample of the European healthcare landscape, to contribute to the creation of the European Health Data Space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OBJECTIVES: <\/strong>DataTools4Heart will create a comprehensive cardiology data toolbox for clinicians, researchers, and data scientists. Tools will allow data ingestion and harmonisation, Natural Language Processing in multiple languages, federated machine learning and data synthesis. Virtual assistants will aid users in navigating large multi-source cardiology data while adhering to European regulations and data Pancreatic Cancer based on the application of advance AI-based learning and decision support techniques on the historic (primary) data of Cancer patients gathered from established data banks and cohorts. This analysis helps to (i) determine key risks associated with Pancreatic Cancer, (ii) develop predictive models for identified risks, and (iii) develop adaptive models for targeted prevention and intervention measures. Based on these developments, the project selects high-risk individuals that are invited to take part in the pilot activities or digital trials. The digital trials are carried out through user-centric mobile and wearable applications that apply proven usability principles to offer more awareness, more engaging experience for health monitoring, risk assessment and personalised decision support. Close collaboration between clinical and AI experts focus on drawing decision support against identified\/predicted risks and providing personalised recommendations (e.g. lifestyle changes, behavioural nudges, screening test etc) to the participants in the digital trials. The iHELP (mobile and wearable) technology solutions help in validating iHELP solutions and raising health related awareness at individual level. The (secondary) data gathered through the mobile and wearable applications (concerning life style, behavioural, social interactions and response to targeted prevention and intervention measures) is integrated with primary data in the standardised HHR format \u2013 within a big data platform. The data and analyses will also serve as a basis for predictive models that will help patients and their doctors make treatment and lifestyle changes in time to reduce serious complications.
